Got the retention bonus email 20 minutes after my transfer was denied
The timing is almost impressive. They can find $6k to keep me on the unit but can't find a line in the budget to move me to days. Asked my manager to explain the math. Still waiting.

Retention bonuses are what happens when leadership discovers turnover costs money but hasn't discovered why people leave.
